Alexander, tell us about your new project?
My new film is called " Disassembly in Manile "(Showdown in Manila), and it will be the first non-stop action in my career. Already, the film is called an alternative version of the "outstanding". Shooting will begin in February in Manila.
The producer of the painting is the Angey Bartskian. As an operator and director, he made many cult films - from the "lawyer of the devil" and "speed" to "Romeo should die", "through injuries" and "doom".
Andrzej enjoys unquestionless authority on the set, in the film already more than 10 stars of the action genre, which have not yet reached the "uncontrolled" Sylvester Stallone.
Who will make you a company on set?
Together with me, Casper Wang Dean ("Star landing") plays the second major role, the main villain - Carey Hiroshuki Tagawa ("Deadly Battle"). Mark Dakascos, the hero of my youth, also plays one of the roles and acts as director of the project. It will be his directorial debut. As a professional fighter he will spin on the screen a real action.
On the main female role, Dakascos tried to attract Monica Beauchchi, but the actress is now removed in the new "Bond", so it will replace Tia Carrer. Also in the picture will appear the cult heroes of militants - Don Dragon Wilson, Cynthia Rotok, Olivier Grüner and Mattias Hughes.
It is known that you are fundamentally not playing Russian gangsters and prefer the role of fighters for justice. What will be your new character?
Absolutely right, I closer honest guys.
I play one of the main roles in the new picture. The film tells about two private detectives that live and work in Manila. They go to the trail of the international terrorist, whose lair is in the jungle under Manila and is protected by the whole army of mercenaries. Detectives are gaining support for not corrupt friends and go to the jungle, fight with this army.
My hero has Russian roots, and now I am trying to convince the scenario of Craig Hamman, who, by the way, worked with Quentin Tarantino over his first film "My Best Friend's Birthday" to make a prolve story to our project. It explains how a huge Russian guy got to the Philippines. If it turns out, this prologue will be removed in St. Petersburg before the end of winter, for more contrast with hot manila.
What attracted the plot of the future movie?
I believe that this film will be good non-stop action-debut for me. In my previous films, for example, "black rose", there are a thriller, and horrors, and a detective. I starred in such militants as the "Moscow heat" and "treasure hunters", but there was no continuous action yet. I want to say that those spectators who love the "uncontrollable" and "raid" must be satisfied.
Summing up the outgoing year, call the most memorable film in 2014?
Of course, this is a promotional tour in Russia with my film " Black Rose ", Which took place in April. I had a wonderful opportunity to meet with the audience, critics, journalists. For me, this is undoubtedly the author's project. I performed by the producer, director, author of the idea and the leading role.
"Black Rose" became the director's debut for you. What is this - stand on the side of the camera?
I really liked it. Of course, this is a hard process, I could not eat normally, train and sleep. But be able to fully keep the project under control, not only as an actor and producer, but also as a director, it is incredibly healthy.
Another huge plus is to see the reaction of critics to the fact that bodybuilder has become not only an actor, but also director. It's priceless. I will definitely continue to shoot.
What genre will be your following pictures?
I'm interested in action. Of course, I also like to watch dramatic films. But as a boy from the 90s I love Action, and I absolutely feel free. I am proud that in my next painting "Disassembly in Manila" so many heroes of militants will be filmed, and I am going to make films in such a genre and further.
Alexander, you enter the Hollywood Association of Foreign Press and vote for the nominees of the Golden Globe Prize. Share your opinion, what film will get a prestigious award?
Yes, I am the only Russian citizen entering this academy
I would not want to comment on the results of nominations before the end of the vote. But I can not not allocate Zvyagintsev with Leviathan. He broke through in such a difficult category as the "Best Foreign Film", and this gave him a chance to get into the short list of applicants for Oscar. Of course, Zvyagintsev this is worthy, "Leviathan" is really a strong film.
Also, a very big impression was made by the film "Berdman". Michael Kiton plays in it. His Batman is the best, with all respects to Wala Kilmera, George Clooney and Christian Bale. Everything else, he turned out to be the first actor with whom I encountered in Hollywood after my move to America in 1999. As you know, Kiton refused to be filmed in the continuation of Batman, and this imposed a large imprint on his further career. Studios did not offer him big roles. Thus, the picture "Berdman" is biographical, she tells about the actor, who became famous thanks to the same role 20 years ago, now he has to re-prove to everyone that he is still talented.
For me, Berdman is one of the main applicants in a variety of nominations.
On the Internet there are many of your joint photos with Arnold Schwarzenegger. I am sure our readers will be very interested to know how you met Iron Arnie?
Arnold I was presented in 2000 in "Caffe Roma" in Beverly Hills My friend Ralph Möller, who for Arnolda as a younger brother. That spring I presented Arnold a gift from Mikhail Gorbachev - his autobiography signed by him personally. Since then, I met with Arnold many times. I can not say that we are close friends, but I am proud of the opportunity that I can communicate with him. He knows that his example inspired me to create a successful film engineer. For me, this is a great honor.
