The director will be Andre Overedal, and the script will write Dan and Kevin Heigman. Guillermo del Toro will develop the concept and plot of the paintings, but it is still unknown if he will return to the post of producer. After all, at the moment he is working on his own project - the film in the genre of Nuar "Alley of Nightmares" on the novel of William Grasshem.
The first film "Scary Stories for Story in the Dark" was released in August 2019. At the budget of $ 25 million, he collected just over 100 million at the box office. The film is based on the stories from the same name of the urban legends of Elvina Schwartz. The collection consists of three volumes, each of which came from 25 to 30 stories, of which only five were included in the first film.
