Within the framework of the "Star Wars" Universe, the episode "Recent Jedies", filmed by Ryan Johnson, became a kind of "template breaking" - so this film turned out to be non-standard in relation to his predecessors. As a result, among fans were like those who, with delight, took a different look at the favorite characters, and those who seemed to be alien to whom. So, Johnson criticized for the fact that he misunderstood the Nature of Skywalker's nature, depicting it in his film as a person with a mass of flaws. The director decided to personally respond to these claims, leaving on Twitter such a message:
I understand this point of view, but I absolutely disagree with it. It is truth to say, it seems to me disrespect for the staff of Luke, if we take it not as a genuine mythical hero, which you have to cope with pain and your flaws, but as a character from a video game, which "pumped" his abilities and has become almost invulnerable.
It must be recognized that Johnson's explanation is difficult to argue. The human nature is complex and mysterious, so in its image simplified schemes do not work. If the hatch 30 years ago showed himself as a real hero capable of great deeds, it does not mean that it is completely devoid of flaws.
