In the summer of this year, one billion rubles was invested in the development of the "Soyuzmultfilm" studio. In the framework of the approved development strategy over the next ten years, the studio should produce 17 animation serials and 12 full-length cartoons, increasing the share on the Russian animation market from 5% to 20%.
The first project as part of this strategy will be a full-length film about Cheburashka with a budget of at least 600 million rubles, the Kommersant reports. Soyuzmultfilm will deal with this project together with the Yellow, Black and White (YBW) studio and channels "Russia 1" and STS. A year ago, the studio received from the family of Eduard Assumption to use the image of Cheburashka, which the YBW studios will be transferred under license. Shooting are planned for 2021, and the premiere - at the 2022th. STS and "Russia 1" will be done with each other shows on TV.
