In subsequent films, Logan felt his responsibility for the round and was ready to defend her at the cost of his own life, but in the comic everyone was completely different. There, Wolverine not only did not get closer with the captive ability to a mutant, but also wanted to kill it, and at a very good reason.
In the Comics Round was part of the villain team Mystic, which, underestimated, to what fatal consequences can cause the ability to absorb memories and skills through close contact, accidentally pushed a young mutant to pick up the strength of one of the most powerful heroes of that time - Carol Danvers. But Round touched Miss Marvel too long (yes, then the character was called this way), and therefore left it to be disconnected from reality vegetable.
