All these paintings earned more than one billion at the box office, but at the same time were poorly taken critics.
Director "Mulan" Nicky Karo at the beginning of work on the project adopted a conscious decision to distance themselves from the original. And such a decision allowed the picture to become the third of the reviews of American critics among the remakes of animation paintings, skipping the junction book John Favro and Cinderella's "Cinderella". And Rotten Tomatoes, and Metacritic highly appreciate the new film "Mulan".
One of the changes that Karo is willing to disappear, is the disappearance from the film of the Musha dragon:
Mush, Trustee Mulan, played a huge role in the cartoon, he was responsible for humor and creating an atmosphere. But we are committed to realism, and it was important for us to show how Mulan is setting up their relationship with comrades-soldiers. So in this part the scenario was significantly converted.
Although the premiere in China has not yet taken place, the film has already been accused of imposing the Chinese audience of Western values and poor-quality work. On the Chinese website Douban film rating 4.8 at 42 thousand votes. And the original cartoon is 7.8. The Chinese are unhappy with the distortion of the classical legend. In particular, according to the already shown trailers it can be seen that Mulan is strong in the Japanese martial arts, and not Chinese.
