The "Gladiator" Ridley Scott became one of the largest films published at the beginning of this century. This picture revived the genre of ancient epic, opening the road to other similar projects, including Troy, the "Last Samurai", "Alexander" and "King of Arthur". At the same time, Gladiator allowed the artist of the title role Russell Crowe to enter the cohort of the brightest Stars of Hollywood - for the role of Maximus, the actor was awarded the Oscar award in the nomination "Best Male Role".
Despite the fact that the ending of the "gladiator" does not imply a sequel, in 2018 it was announced that Scott, together with his associates, took up the development of the second part. In this regard, they inevitably arose speculation about whether it is worth waiting in the upcoming movie of the return of CROU. However, the actor stated the other day that he is currently not part of this project:
If they lead some negotiations, then these negotiations do not have any relationship. I am absolutely not aware that they have conceived there. I confess, I am definitely skeptical, because all these conversations stretch from 2000.
