The criminal drama of Alexey Balabanova "Brother" is hardly the most beloved Russian film, shot after the collapse of the Soviet Union. Interesting materials in connection with the "brother" a lot, and now the network again drew attention to the series of photographs, on which the frames from this painting are superimposed on the modern appearance of St. Petersburg. The author of the snapshots found concrete places where the events of "brother" unfold, comparing them with the corresponding frames from the film.
Considering these photos, it seems that it is more appropriate to talk here about the contrast, but about the fusion of two eras and reality, because the northern capital for more than twenty years since the release of "brother" has almost changed. Interestingly, the film's budget was very limited, because in order to save the shooting were often conducted without any special preparations. It is also worth noting that most of the film was removed on Vasilyevsky island.
The author of the pictures is St. Petersburg photographer Katerina Mishkel. As you can see on the personal site of Katerina, it specializes in studio shooting, wedding photo sessions and photo-trumpet format.
