Last year, the actor and producer Edija Wood made it clear that he would like to revive the horror franchise "Nightmare on Elm Street." While this idea exists only at the level of plans, but if the project is still launched, a number of questions will arise about how to renew a long history and how to deal with the main character in Freddie Kruger.
Commenting on the situation, Wood said that the new "nightmare on Elm Street" will take place, but only under the condition that there will be a place for Freddie:
We will certainly need to return Robert Inglund to participate in another film. I think if we want to put the beginning of a new franchise and direct it in another direction, then we need to discuss everything with Robert before doing the following steps. I do not think that it would be interesting to talk from time to once and the same story, so we do not need another story of the origin of Freddie Kruger. Moreover, I do not think that Freddie should become a central figure of a new film.
With the exception of the 2010 remake, in all parts of the "nightmare on the street of Elm" a cult villain Freddie Kruger played actor Robert Inglund. At the same time, the first film was released in 1984, for which numerous sequels followed, including the Freddie vs. Jason crossover - in him the rival Kruger became the main villain from the Friday, 13th franchise.
