Literally a couple of weeks have passed since Stephen King in his Twitter Account stated that it is not worthwhile as a question of "diversity in the field of art", since only the quality of this or that product of cinema is not worth it. And suddenly it turned out that the opinion of the writer managed to radically change. Now he does not only attach importance to issues of racial diversity, but also believes that the results of the Oscar premium are falsified so that the white-skinned laureates are in most.

King published an article in the edition of The Washington Post, in which he noted that, at least now racial questions in art cost rather acutely, the situation was much worse before. In confirmation of his words, he remembered the times, "when there were only a few African American directors in Hollywood and only one film director."
The writer also shares discontent of those who believe that among the nominees of the Oscar premium are not enough black. At King's view, the problem is a jury: it consists of 94% of white-skinned people, and 77% of the man, and more than half of them have overcome the age mark of 60 years.
Understanding that he himself comes up under the description "White, male, old and rich", King made an important reservation, which partly saved him from the attacks of readers. The writer noted that for quite understandable reasons, he cannot change its characteristics, but it tries to influence the situation through his books. They appear for women's characters endowed with a huge inner force, for example, Carrie and Lisi History.
Summing up, King noted that "to judge creativity should be solely blindly", but this is possible only "in the ideal world in which everything is not falsified in favor of white." It is worth noting that, although King's statements sound logical, many perceived them in the bayonets only because he used to speak out in the opposite vein.
