Canyon Fiadarrglifefur is one of the most picturesque places in Southern Iceland, which until 2015 was known to everyone. The Telegraph edition reported that if in 2017 the number of tourists amounted to 150 thousand people, in 2018 there were already 282 thousand. The canyon was not ready for such an influx of travelers. Tourists pulled out the paths and damaged many species of plants, almost bringing them to disappearance.
The situation took so serious turnover that Iceland's ecologists had to intervene in this matter. It was originally planned to close the canyon for visitors for two weeks so that the vegetation would have time to recover, but this was not enough. It is now reliably unknown when tourists will again be able to visit Fiadargrofur. But it is just known that the Agency for Environmental Protection Iceland expects Justin Bieber of public apologies.
