Gayman added that the creators of the coming show was where "easier and more fun" to work with a separate version of the hero - the one that fully corresponds to the canon.
Also in one of the interviews, he mentioned that it was approacing the Netflix project as if she had first created a "sand man", and therefore relies on the modern realities. This means not only the update of the timeline, the refinement of plot lines, but also, obviously, changes in the characters, as in the case of a Lucifer floor.
"We look at it. Well, now 2020, let's say, I do a "sand man", starting from 2020, what would we do then? How would we change the situation? What sex will this character be? Who will be this person? What will happen? " - stated the writer.
