The study was based on a rather simple formula: the authors turned to the Rotten Tomatoes review aggregator data, comparing "evaluation of critics" with the "assessment of the audience" in the case of each film. The larger the gap between the two estimates, the more was the "coefficient of controversy." According to this indicator, "the last Jedi" was in the fifth place: among critics, the film rating was 91% of "freshness", and among the audience - only 43%. Above the eighth episode of the "Star Wars" in the list of RavereView, only the documentary paintings "demolish the big house" (2019) and the "Hale District in Morning and Evening" (2018), the comedy "Hanna Gadsby: Nanette" (2018), as well as Western " American heroes "(2001).
