According to the producer, the audience had to see how the death of the capital hero served as the starting point for the appearance of Batman:
I'll tell you what option the finals I offered initially. I always thought that the show should end with the death of Oliver, so in the end we did the same. But I also had a fantasy that after the death of Oliver we will show something like a news report, in which it will be about his merit and heritage.
After that, there should be a frame with a panorama of the city, which suddenly widespread some gangster, who received a crushing blow from somewhere because of the frame. Then we see a couple of black shoes and trembling a hem of the raincoat. "Oliver Quen inspired a new generation of Wigilant," says a stranger. Of course, this is a hint of Batman.
The high expectations of the audience in connection with the end of the "arrows" had a large pressure on the creators of the television show, but Guggenheim thanked the fans for adopted the proposed final quietly, and not in the spirit of Fanbazi "Games of Thrones".
