Official statistics state that restarts get higher ratings than the remakes: 53% against 47%. Of the 400 films, according to Rotten Tomatoes, only 10% were able to exceed the original ribbons, and 33% of them managed to earn a rating of "freshness" in 60%, that is, an estimate above average. Among these films: "Something" of 1982, "apostates" of 2006 and the "train to YUU" 2007.

Getting more recognition from spectators and critics were able to "11 Owen's friends" 2001, the "iron grip" of 2010 and the Gaming remake of the cartoon "Book of Jungle" 2016.

Only three remakes were marked by the golden statuettes of the Oscar award: "apostates" from Martin Scorsese, "Mary of Bounty" "1935 and Ben-Gur 1959.

Judging by the statistics, the most fruitful and successful decade for remakes became the eighties. Thanks to such valued films as "fly", "no exit" and "face with a scar", the average rating of remakes of those years is 57%. What you can not say about other periods: the 90s distinguished themselves between the average rating of 49%, the 2000s - 41%, and the remakes that were published since 2010 and to this day earned an average rating of 45%.
