At the BAFTA awards ceremony, which will be held online on July 31, the British actor and producer Idris Elba will receive a special award "for creative contributions to television and diversity support." BAFTA executive director Amanda Berry said:
Idris is one of the most famous British actors in the world with a long and successful quarry on the screen. He is also the driving force of settling racial diversity, providing talented people from all the seas of society the opportunity to reveal their potential. We will be happy to celebrate Idris and his outstanding work at the ceremony of this year.
Idris Elba is known for TV series "Wood" and "Luther", as well as the films "Tor", "Prometheus", "Pacific Cross". In 2013, he opened the production company Green Door Pictures, which specializes in search of previously unknown talents. The actor reacted with such words:
It is a great honor for me to be awarded special BAFTA award. My mission was to provide the opportunity to new talents. After all, I myself once received this opportunity for many years ago.
