The first film from the "People of X" was published in 2000, putting the beginning of one of the most cash and prolonged film franms in history. In honor of the 20th anniversary of the original picture, the executor of the role of Cyclopa James Marsden gave an interview with Cinemablend, in which he shared his reflections on the importance of "X-People" for both the superhero genre and for themselves personally:
I think we all hoped that this project would become what he eventually became. We knew that his potential was huge, because behind him is the legacy of the Universe of the people of X. These heroes were invented back in 1962 or 1963, right? By the time we started to make the first film, the people of X were already a forty-year history and a lot of avid fans.
So we understood that we need to do everything correctly that our film adaptation remains relevant to many many years. I hoped for it, but I did not expect that all new parts would leave. That is, I thought that the release of 4-5 parts would already be successful, but in the end they turned out to be 10 or so. It is some kind of madness, but it is very cool.
To this, Marsden added that he is very proud to be part of the "X-Men", even though he did not appear in all the films of the franchise. According to the actor, for him this experience was something unique.
