The long-time director and the executive producer of the "Walkiy Dead" Greg Nikotero argues that a forced break, for which the film industry left in connection with the coronavirus pandemic, allowed the Creative team of the franchise headed by Scott Gimple and Robert Kirkman to get more time to develop a scenario for the full-length spin-off About Rica Gheims.
At the moment, it is planned to issue a trilogy, the cinema release of which will be engaged in Universal Pictures. These films will tell about what happened with Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and Anna (Polianna Makintosh) after they left Virginia on a helicopter. In a conversation with Syfy Wire, Nicotero said:
As I understood from conversations with Mr. Gimple, the project scenario is actively speaking. I got acquainted with a pair of early drafts, but lately I have not seen anything. Nevertheless, work as far as I understand is in full swing. In the current situation, screenwriters can work at home ... They are able to turn the circumstances in their favor, so everything is fine.
According to Nicotero, as soon as the COVID-19 pandemic goes to the decline and the production of "Walking Dead" will resume, the creators will have a lot of materials for further projects within the franchise, including the scenario for long-awaited films about Rica Gilims.
