The role in the film "Joker" continues to bring Hoachin Phoenix awards - this time he became a winner of the British Academy of Movies and Telecomstances (BAFTA) in the nomination "Best Actor". As in the case of the Golden Globe, Phoenix decided to use his thankful question in order to draw attention to those problems that exist in modern society. This time the actor appealed to the theme of racism in Hollywood:
It is a great honor for me to be here tonight, but I have to say that I feel a certain contradiction, since many of my colleagues who deserve recognition, such privileges are deprived. I think we made it clear that people with other skin were not glad here. It was such a message that we sent those who made a huge contribution to such a favorable industry.
I do not think that someone counts on a challenge or a special relationship, but just we do annually for yourself. I think people just want to get well-deserved respect for their work. And I am ashamed to admit that I myself am part of this problem. We need to do a great job to truly understand systematic racism. Those who elevated it should be broken by this vicious system - that is, we ourselves. Thank you.
It is worth adding that Phoenix never shy to actively express his views. Being a vegan, the actor stands for the refusal to eat food animal origin, and also encourages people to realize that industrial animal husbandry is one of the reasons for negative climatic changes on the planet.
