However, such a turn did not become a surprise for Peter Dinklage, who played Tyrion Lanner in the TV show. Despite the indignation by fans, the actor insists that such a solution has become a completely logical ending of the whole saga.
In the documentary film about the shooting of the eighth season "Games of the Thrones" Dinklage says:
I was not surprised at all that Bran was elected king, because he may be the only one who remained clean in the face of vices. The fact that he cannot have children predetermined the position of Tyrion, because in the history of Westeros there were so many heirs who were terrible rulers.
According to most fans, the king was to be Tyrion, because he is the last Lannister, who survived. The other favorites of fans - Daineris Targaryen, John Snow and Sansa Stark remained. Despite this, in his comments to the eighth season "Games of the Thrones" Showranner David Benioff and Dan Wayss confirmed that the election was brought by King Westeros - it was the ending that the writer George Martin was conceived for novels from the "Song of Ice and Fire" cycle.
