According to Deadline, the TV series "The Lord of the Rings", the production of which is engaged in Amazon, was officially extended to the second season - despite the fact that the premiere of the debut season should take place only next year. Moreover, the filming of the first episodes have not even started. Despite this, the head of Amazon Studios Jennifer Salke confirmed that the work on the second season's scenario is already underway. Apparently, the heads of the studio are firmly convinced that their ambitious project based on the works of John R.R. Tolkina will have a great success.

Amazon Studios acquired television rights to the "Lord of the Rings" in November 2017. According to this transaction, the studio has planned the release of not only the multi-sieves film, but also its potential spin-offs. The joy of fans, the news that the "Lord of the Rings" from Amazon will certainly receive a continuation, means that the break between the first two seasons will be short. At the same time, at the end of the work on the first two episodes of the debut season, the film crew will go on vacation for 4-5 months, but this is a familiar practice. During this time, Showranner and executive producers of the project John D. Pain and Patrick McCay plans to outline and develop a major part of the scenario for the second season.

As in the case of Peter Jackson's trilogy, the action of the series will unfold in the Mediterranean, but this time the audience will get acquainted with the events that have occurred long before what is described in the "Brotherhood of Ring" Tolkien. The acting of the TV show was not yet officially approved, but it is expected that Will Poulter will enter it, Markell Kavena and Joseph Moul.
