In an interview with the ComicBookMovie portal, Kripka shared that this time he would like to finish the show independently, putting in those five seasons:
Now I am smart enough to not speak publicly when it is the point in my series. But despite this, I think that five years is a suitable figure for "guys." I can not say that I have a clear step-by-step plan - by the way, it was also with the "supernatural". When working on the "guys", I had an intention as this story would reach the climax. Slowly, but confidently we will move at this point. But I do not know the details of how we will pass this path. At one time, I was very mistaken about the duration of the "supernatural", so I will no longer install any rigid and stable frames.
