So, it seems that Sony Pictures really works on the film "Woman Spider". And at least the project, apparently, is only in the earliest stages of development, already now there are grounds to assume someone will get the role of Jessica Drew.
According to The Illuminerdy, Sony is interested in attracting Michelle McLaren as director ("The Walking Dead", "Game of Thrones"). She, by the way, had to shoot a "wonder-woman" Warner Bros., but some "creative disagreements" were prevented. However, since then, several studios have constantly tried to attract McLaren to one of the comic shields, and, it seems, this time everything can work out. An assumption also appeared about who will embody on the screen the image of a Woman spider - it is believed that Alicia Wikander will be an ideal actress for this role ("Girl from Denmark", "from the car").
Apparently, Sony's plan is that a spider woman has become another bridge between the Vienna, Morbius and the rest of the film marvel. In the center of the plot will be Jessica Drew, a young woman who under the fault of the father was exposed to uranium. The scientist was forced to use the experimental medicine to save her, and eventually Jessica woke up decades later and found supernatural forces in himself, forgetting who she was in the past.
It is important to note that even if Sony is really interested in Wikander and McLaren, until official proposals have been received. And in general, the studio often mean a certain "type" of the actor or director, when only think about a particular project.
