The authorities of New Zealand issued permission to resume the filming of seven films and serials. According to the Ministry of Economic Development, these projects will bring about 400 million dollars to the economy. Minister Phil Twailford announced additional measures to attract international film projects to the country:
Our success in the fight against Coronavirus allows our country to become one of the few places where it is safe to produce a new content. Inquiries that we receive from producers tell me that the international cinematic community is considering new Zealand with something like global asylum.
In the near future, work on such projects will be resumed in the country:
- Continuing "Avatar" under the guidance of James Cameron. It is planned to take another 4 sequel on the franchise.
- The series "Lord of the Rings" of Amazon.
- The series "Cowboy Bobop" service Netflix. Shooting were stopped back in 2019, after the executor of the leading role John Cho ("Search", Startrek) traumatized his leg into one of the first shooting days.
- The series "Sweet tooth" - Vertigo comic screeny from Warner Bros Studio. TV on the order of Netflix.
- Films "The longest delivery of beer in history" and "Power of the dog."
Also in the list there is a series "Mighty Rangers", although it was previously reported that the next season was completed before the start of the pandemic. It is possible that we are talking about the shooting of the third season.
