In a recent interview, the writer and screenwriter Neil Geiman commented on the final of the third season of the series "American gods", stating that the completion of the project would like the "worst of the possible". The playwright expressed hope for the renewal of the show for the fourth season, in which the story can be developed, but this was not destined to be implemented. Starz TV channel closed the project after three seasons.

About the fact that the fantasy drama did not extend to the fourth season, the Edition of The Hollywood Reporter was told. The reason for the closure of the project was the fallen ratings that declined compared with the first two seasons by 65%. However, according to the publication, Starz channel is now negotiating with the Fremantle studio engaged in the production of the series, that instead of the final fourth season, take off the full-length film, which will close all the plot lines of the American gods. However, there are no specific plans for the TV channel for the future show.

Recall, the series "American gods", based on the novel of the Nila Gamean's novel, was published on the Starz TV channel since April 2017. The main roles in it were performed by Riki Whittle, Emily Browning, Yetide Badaka, Bruce Langley, Ian Makshane and others.
