In La La Land, Gosling plays a jazz musician, whose lives changes after a meeting with a beginner actress (Emma Stone). All the scenes on which the Gosling plays the piano, at the insistence of the film director, Demien Chasell, was shot by a solid double, and not mounted from individual frames:
"Ryan agreed to the task that turned out to be a real challenge his abilities. We were not going to "cut" scenes, we were going to shoot one long double - to prove that he really plays, "Chasell told.
