As Hannem himself told in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, shooting the "lost city of Z", which tells about the expedition in the forests of Amazon, was held in 2015 in Colombia. Of course, the postal report in this country left much to be desired - and as a result, the letter of the actor to his girlfriend was lost somewhere on the road. Instead of contacting his girlfriend (and from Morgan Charlie for 11 years already), the actor decided to ignore it in general - Hannem decided that the lack of communication would help him get into the image of his research character.
When the "voluntary link" Hannema is over, he tried to redeem the blame in front of her friend - and not only apologized to her, but also presented a valuable gift to the girl:
"One of the advantages of filming in Colombia is very beautiful and fairly cheap emeralds. My girl is a jewelry designer, so I was able to return with a decent gift. Of course, it did not save me from trouble, but it helped a little, "the actor told me.
