"Creator I tremble or right I have?": Russians called Tolstoy and Dostoevsky poets

Russians included prose writers of Lion Tolstoy and Fedor Dostoevsky to the list of the greatest poets in the world. The corresponding survey was conducted by the research organization of the WTCIOM.

Thus, the study involved 1,600 Russians over 18 years old, and they were asked to call five names of the writers whom they consider the most great poets in the world. The survey was conducted on the phone and was timed to the Day of the memory of Alexander Pushkin, which is celebrated on February 10.

The absolute majority, that is, 78%, mentioned Pushkin. Then, Mikhail Lermontov, Sergey Yesenin and Vladimir Mayakovsky, who were remembered by 43%, 37% and 14% of respondents, were then included in the list. In the fifth place, Russians set Lion Tolstoy - it was called 11% of respondents, and Fedor Dostoevsky, mentioned by 6%, turned out to be in the sixth. Also on the list of Joseph Brodsky, Marina Tsvetaeva, Boris Pasternak, Anton Chekhov and other famous writers and poets.

In addition, Russians were asked to call the greatest domestic poets, but in this case the list has practically not changed: Pushkin, Lermontov, Yesenin and Mayakovsky fell into it. The author of "War and Mira" here mentioned only 4% of respondents, and Dostoevsky only 2%.
