The upcoming film "Dune" will become the debut joint work of Denis Vilneva and Timothy Shalam, but it turned out that this is not the first time they crossed their ways. In a recent interview with GQ, the director told that he refused the future star "call me with his name," when he tried to the role in the "prisoners" (2013). Moreover, Vilnev himself was safely forgotten about this incident, and the situation as a result was a little awkward.
Denis told that when they met with Timothy to discuss the "Dune", he noticed how happy to finally see the young actor. And then he recalled that they had already come across samples a few years ago. Only then remembered the director.
He perfectly led to listening, but physically did not fit for this role, so I could not take it,
- I explained Vilnev, and also added that the actor to him was probably very angry because of this. However, it is already obvious that the situation did not affect their further cooperation.
By the way, at the time of the filming of the "captive" on the account of Shalam, there was not yet a single role in the movie. His largest works at that time were the series "Motherland" and "Dear Doctor". Only in 2014 he made his debut on the big screen in Drama Jason Wrightman "Men, Women and Children" and InterStellar Christopher Nolan.
