The first work of Alfred Hichkoka after moving from the UK to the United States was the screening of the Gothic novel Daphne duja Rebecca. In the 1940 film, Joan Fonten, Lawrence Olivier and Judith Anderson played the main roles. The tape received Oscar as the best film of 1941, the George Barnes film operator also received Oscar for this film.
