Against the background of a new wave of fighting racism, many films and serials from the past, in which they now see distorted or biased attitude towards those or other social groups are now seen. The Cult Sitter "Friends" in this regard is also reassessing. So, the actor David Schwimmer, who played in the series Ross, made a statement that he at one time demanded from the creators, so that his hero more often started relationships with "color" women:
I thought about it. I really had the feeling that Ross should be found with different people, with women of different races. It seemed wrong that in our show racial variety was not presented in due volume,
- said Schwimmer in an interview with Entertainment Tonight.
Recall that for ten seasons of the "friends" Ross met with two "color" women - with Julie, played by Loro Tom, and from Charlie, who performed Aisha Tyler. At the same time, the Schvimmer is pleased with the fact that in "friends" one-sex relationships were shown, because for the television of the 90s it was something out of the ranks:
Our show managed to turn some incredible things. If you remember the pilot episode, my hero remains alone, because his wife went to another woman. I think it was great that the "friends" was shown a same-sex marriage.
It is noteworthy that quite recently the creator of the "Friends" of Martha Kauffman also expressed regret that at one time she did not introduce more social, sexual and racial diversity to this series.
