A child from the "Mandalorets" series, known in the people as a baby iodine, is a unique creation not only in the context of the plot of "Star Wars", but also the real miracle of technology. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the leading artist on visual effects in Mandalorez Richard Blaff said that the creation of the baby iodine was difficult and painstaking work, and the cinematographers managed to try out not one model before making the final choice:
We had two versions. One of them was an animatron and demanded up to five dolls, if we needed to provide movements of the eyes, heads and hands.
Initially, the authors of "Mandaloort" wanted to recreate the baby with iodine with the help of computer graphics, but as a result, the choice was made in favor of the doll. It is curious that this decision was made by and large randomly. At first, the doll was used on the set only as a landmark for actors. When the option was tested with a full-fledged moving doll, the result exceeded all the expectations. At the same time, the baby iodine was not always the pretty creature, which later fascinated the whole world. Showranner John Favro shared:
We had many different drawings. Some of them were too adorable, some are too ugly, whereas the proportions were broken on others.
Despite the delay in production due to the coronavirus pandemic, the second season "Mandalortz" still must reach in October of this year.
