In one of the series of the documentary series, Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian, telling about the production of the series "Mandalorets", director John Favro told how the work on the creation of the image of the baby Yodes was, and showed the concept art. According to Favro, they needed to find an image that would look at the same time alien and attractive. As a result, from all options, the choice fell on the head of the Lucasarts Concept Design Division of Christian Alzman:

We had a lot of options. Some were too nice, some were too ugly, some had strange proportions. The image from Chris Alzmana, who wrapped the baby in the fraud of a flight jacket or something like that, was the very image that we were looking for. And the eyes of the baby were slightly strange, and he looked somewhat unusual. But all together was so charming that we immediately said: "It is very good."

The star of the series Werner Herzog, who played the client, but declared to producers that this is a cowardly solution and need to have courage to become pioneers and show the world that can be done with a doll on the set. During filming, the kid yodine managed two techniques. One answered the movement of the eyes and mouth, and the second - for the expression of the face.
