Fedal weapon franchise about two police officers performed by Mel Gibson and Danny Glover became a sign phenomenon in the militant genre in the 80s and 90s. The fourth part of this story came to the screens back in 1998, but now the creators are considering the option with the return of Martin Riggs detectives and Roger Merrt on the screens in the "fatal weapons 5". In the fresh interview Variety, Glover shared some details about the development of the upcoming film:
We talked about this project in January. I would not want to prematurely disclose the contents of the script read by me, but I can say that this plot directly relates to the events that occur in the world now. I declare this with all the confidence. But it was back in January. The story changes so quickly ... But yes, negotiations are conducted. We have a specific plan. If the existing scenario gets life, you will find something extraordinary. It will be interesting how it will look at the current political climate, especially considering the suffering that people suffered from the police.
Dan Lin should be the producer of "deadly weapons 5", and the director's chair of the project can take Richard Donner, before that, withdrawn all previous parts of the franchise.
