Queen Elizabeth II decided to deprive Harvey Weinstein Titulie Knight of the Superior Order of the British Empire. The director who is now serving conclusion due to sexual crimes, received a reward in 2004 from the hands of General Consul of Great Britain Thomas Harris for merits to British cinema. The title of knight receives people who contributed "outstanding, innovative contribution to any area."
In 2017, when Harvey became the hero of a loud scandal because of numerous accusations of sexual violence, a number of British politicians appealed to the authorities asking to deprive Weinstein his honorary status. It did not contradict the rules, because the title of knight can be taken if his carrier harms the reputation of the Order.
Now the name of Weinstein is crossed out of the register of the Order, and its purpose is canceled.
Now the opairen director is serving the term in prison, he was sentenced to 23 years of conclusion. But the trial in its respect does not end, since new evidence of other crimes appear, due to which its detention may increase.
