Recently it became known that the AMC channel decided to close his series "The Walking Dead" in 2022, but the franchise itself will continue to actively develop. Norman Ridus will remain one of the actors of this saga, because his hero Daryl Dickson will receive his own spin-off together with Carol Pelette performed by Melissa McBride. But on this, the further cooperation of Ridus with AMC will not be limited. According to the Edition of Deadline, the actor concluded a contract with the channel on behalf of the Big Bald Head producer company.
Ridus, before that, known for the TV series "Saints from Bundoka", made his debut as Daryl Dixon in 2010, when the third episode of the first season of the walking dead was released on the ether. Remembering the path done along with AMC, Ridus said:
For me, an incredible honor to be part of the "walking dead". This show changed my life and career. Anyone who is involved in this project has become a decade in this family. I am grateful for the love and support that AMC has. I know that we can still tell a lot of stories that will please the audience. Daryl's relationship with Carol has always been more expensive to me (sorry, Rick). I like how these characters interact with each other at a very different levels. I can't wait to see how their fate will last.
The final series of the original tenth season "Walking Dead" will be released on October 4, after which six more additional episodes will be removed - their premiere is scheduled for early 2021. The production of the eleventh season will begin at about the same time.
