Producer and one of the director "Walking Dead" Greg Nikotero wanted that in the eighth season the series Nigan died by Maggie. Lauren Cohen played, Maggie Green was introduced in the television show in the second season, with time becoming a central character. As Nigan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), then in the original comics "The Walking Dead" he was one of the worst guys, and in the film release he appeared effectively in the final episode of the sixth season, which ended with powerful Cliffheger.
Later it turned out that Nigan brutally killed Glenna (Stephen Yang) and Abraham (Michael Kudlitz). For Maggie, such a turn turned around by the mercenary tragedy, because she only recently married Glenn, carrying his child in the womb. In the future, it became clear that Maggie wanted to take revenge on Nigan. When Nigan was fighting Rick (Andrew Lincoln) at the end of the eighth season, Maggie was deprived of the opportunity to show the villain, because he was abandoned. In an interview with Collider, Nicotero said on this:
I said [the then Showranner "Walking Dead"] Scott Gimple: "I think Maggie should shoot him. I think Maggie should either kill Nigan, or shoot it, that is, to do anything, because the truth is on her side. " I said: "It's hard to shoot this moment, because we know that Maggie falls on his knees because Rick leaves Nigan alive." I threw this idea to the gimple, I still asked what Maggie did not shoot him? Why did Maggie do not kill him? " But, of course, Nigan had a lot of adventures ahead.
Later, however, Maggie fell another chance to confirm with Nigan, but she decided to spare him. It happened that as a result, Maggie left the series, since Cohen decided to switch to other projects, while Nigan still remains one of the existing "walking dead". Nevertheless, this is not the end of the story, because in the eleventh season Maggie should return to the TV show.
