Roland Emmerich about the possibility of removing

I dont know. At the moment, nothing concrete is impossible. Of course, talked about it with Fox bosses, but after the studio was redeemed, I told myself: "Well, probably, this is the end." Hollywood is a very strange place in our days, and I have the feeling that Disney may also be interested in this project. They like movies belonging to different franchises.

Emmerich is quite restrained in its comments, soberly assessing the situation. Considering that the sequel released in 2016 "Independence Day: Revival" turned out to be much less successful than the original film with Will Smith, Disney can really put a cross on this franchise. If Emmerich still give a chance to take off the third part, he will be ready for this - according to him, he already has some ideas for the "Independence Day 3".
